noted the following conditions in the patient. Both pupils dilated ; tlie patient half drowsy ; the pulse almost imperceptible at the wrist. He ordered an emetic dose of sulphate of zinc and also stimulants. An Assistant-Surgeon afterwards visited the woman and approved of the treatment. Towards evening slie complained of a severe burning pain at the stomach, and died in the course of the night. From even this meagre account which I could get from the medical attendants it is quite obvious tliat.it was a case ot narcoticoirritant poisoning. The next two cases came under my observation about three years ago, and I can only give a short account of them at this distance of time fiom my recollection of them.
